This was, as far as can be established, the first game played by Romsey Town CC - and certainly the first league game. The fact that it didn't go too well isn't surprising - "59 all out" is the sort of total that the club seemed to favour for most of the '80s - but the main thing is that we had a team out on the pitch and were competing.
