Romsey Town just missed out on promotion in the CCA Junior 5 Division South in 1986, finishing third, just a single point behind second-placed Newmarket. The result was decided when our final round match against them was washed out - we'd needed to beat them, but never got the chance to try. For a number of years it had been believed that all records of this season had been lost, but in 2011 Andy found an old scorebook, so all the fixtures and averages have been recorded for posterity.
