After weeks of overcast weather, the sky was blue, the grass was green and the corn was back in the sandwiches -- yes, another day at Emmanuel.
We batted first, and, mainly due to fantastic spells by Wilbrahams' openers, we were restricted to just 50 runs in the first 20 overs. Ev Fox withstood the onslaught, making a well deserved half century, and then Neal Baker and Phil Bradford gave the score some respectability, smashing six an over for the last half of the innings to get us to 177/3.
However it was an easy wicket to bat on, and we didn't have the firepower to tie down the opposition. They made it all look so easy, overhauling our ``target'' with 10 overs and eight batsmen left.
Despite last week's rousing victory, relegation was very much on the cards. With four matches left we'd won just 4 of our 12 matches, and we really needed to win two of the last four, starting with Whittlesford next week.
