This was the second scheduled friendly match against Remnants, and this time we did actually get out on the ground . . . at least some of us. Despite having just nine players (most of whom were Owens), we kept Remnants below 100 in their 20 overs. Everyone got amongst the wickets, but Pete Cornwell's was the highlight: Remnants' key batsman, Tony Malik (cousin of Salim, incidentally) clean bowled from the first ball of Pete's spell. The run chase was pretty easy going, with Alfie Wilmshurst and Phil Bradford opening, and returned prodigal son Maurie ??? all scoring essentially at will.
