At about 1pm on the Friday Fenstanton told us that they couldn't field a team and hence conceded the match. The free 20 points certainly didn't do our league standing any harm, taking our average up to 10.09 (although NCI's surprise victory against Elsworth means that they're nipping at our heels with an average of 9.82), but it was rather disappointing to have the prospect of no cricket on the most magnificent Saturday in at least a month.

Andy hence went into recuitment mode, getting available players from Remnants, NCI, Wolfson College and even Doha (i.e., Ev Fox is back in the country). The result was twenty-odd cricketers basking in the afternoon heat at Trinity College as Andy's Wolf Pack took on Rod's Ravers in a 30-over game.
