We started pretty well against Bassingbourn today, reducing them to 61/6 at one stage. This was mainly thanks to the penetrating bowling of Girish Lakhwani (3/19) and Ferdi Rex (2/21), who managed almost exact repeats of their performances last week, and the catching of the still immobile Andy Owen, who snaffled three chances at slip. Bassingbourn had recovered somewhat to 109/7 before the heavens opened and this game, like just about all the others in Cambridgeshire, had to be abandoned just when it was getting interesting.
