After a couple of matches that we lost from a winning position it was time for a change today. Unfortunately, it was only the "from a winning position" bit that changed, as we were never in the hunt today.
Royston piled up a total of 218/8, the highest we'd conceded all year - and that desite the best efforts of Olly Rex (5/47), David Sloan (1/22 on debut for Romsey), Robin Eddington (1/29) and Matt Commin (1/40), and despite the fact that we held seven catches (Dave Clark and Cameron Petrie both bagging two a-piece).
Our chase was hopeless: only Cameron (17) and Robin (14) made more than 7, and we only just managed to last beyond drinks. Our eventual margin of defeat - 149 runs - was our seventh worst ever.
