Report by Daniel Mortlock:
We started the day with hopes of (almost) catching up with Helions Bumpstead in second place on the league table, but ended it having to be content with a few good individual performances. Catherine Owen (5/41) and Jeff Beaumont (2/31) starred with the ball, and were ably assisted by Olly Rex, who took three catches. Chasing an improbable 245 for victory, we made a good fist of it as seven batsmen made it to double figures . . . but the problem was that only one of those, Robin Eddington (67 off 65 balls) made more than 26. Given that we ended up making 217/9 (our seventh highest second innings score), it probably just needed one more batsmen to stay with Robin for a big partnership - but not today.
